These cameras are AMAZING
I’ve been a Canary Camera user for years. But as time has gone by I have become less enchanted with their customer service and the loss of what I consider to be necessary functions. In addition to the 5 indoor cameras I had 3 outdoor. The 3 have been a pain from day 1. Especially always having to charge them. I bought one of these to replace the worst one and it was like night and day! No more charging due to solar power, the motion detection is perfect (got a clear picture of a Buck going through my yard the very first night) and the pictures are clear! I’ve since bought 2 more and replaced all 3 of the outside ones! I know for sure, as the Canaries on the inside fail, this is what I’m getting to replace ALL of them!

Great PTZ Camera
I liked how well this little camera works so well that I now have a total of 4 up with a few more planned. I use them to help cover areas that are hard to reach for power. I also installed 1 on my robotic lawn mower to see where it gets stuck. I don’t subscribe to the services, but the motion detection options for local save with an sd card work very well. the app is easy to use and incredibly easy to link the camera to the app. If I had to complain it would be the night vision, its not great but it works good enough for the price point. the color night vision is amazing but I don’t like the light on with it so i just use the regular night vision. overall I highly recommend this camera if your looking for a good budget ptz cam.

Solar powered security camera
The media could not be loaded.
This fits everything I needed! I’m moving to another property and the lady next to me has already stolen my $50 shovel. I needed a easy to use app, Notified me via phone (I’m at work and I get real time alerts when the mailman walks into the detection area, and my boyfriend taking out our dog while Iwas at work), spotlight when it’s dark (forgot that first early morning and i took out the dog and got to the front of the porch and turned on the spotlight, have a funny clip alert of me swinging around at it in surprise at 3:30 am) , we’ve tested the intercom and it works adequately. I’m most grateful for being able to put in a S.D. card and being able to save anything from prior alerts to being able to record live though you do have to format it through the app when first starting up which was relatively easy. I’m feeling more relieved about once the internet is up and running out there putting it up to keep an eye on things until this spring when we can actually move out there. I found I liked this one so well I went ahead and purchased a second to get more coverage. I haven’t hooked up the solar charger yet and tested that, I’ve just charged it inside and put it back on its base but it’s charge has lasted over a week already! I accidentally deleted the camera on the app and had to restart from step one but though frustrated with myself for doing it I’m glad in hindsight because now I know if something happens it reconnects effortlessly and starts right back up with no problems. For the price I paid I’m surprised, after browsing Amazon for a month trying to figure out which would have all the options I wanted (able to move the camera around remotely, spotlight, intercom, solar power, alerts, and most importantly use a S.D. card so I wouldn’t have to use any services to store and get monthly fees) I’m very thankful and happy with my decision to get this security system! So many great and awful reviews had me scared to settle on one, This is Mechelle in Tennessee and I just wanted to let those browsing my personal feedback.

Good camera, disappointed marketing.
I was mad about spending hours learning the camera to have it shut off on me before writing this but I think the first one they sent was defective. My re ordered camera is working great. PAY FOR THE SERVICE BEFORE IT RUNS OUT OF THE 100megabytes.Old review:This company only has a EMAIL customer service that takes hours to reply back if u have a problem with your camera. I don’t like that they beat around the bush and market this camera as “no extra fee” but if you don’t buy their data plan immediately when setting up they will shut off the SIM card and you cannot use it. The camera is on sale for 75$ and that is the only reason it is worth me trying another one. But there was no need to lie about needing their data plan to keep the camera running. Now I had to return the first one and order another one. Just messing with my bank account for no reason. Also, it’s not able to run 24/7 off of cellular 4g net work. They bearly mention this. It has to rely on motion sensor activation to prevent from using too much data. So don’t put it somewhere with too much traffic. If you use the streaming it uses 50-150kilobytes per second. 10 seconds is roughly 1megabyte. So you could use 1gigabyte in about 2.75hours of video watching. Which is great but motion sensor will also record video when activated. Videos usually use more data killing that 2.75hr. They’re data plan is 15.99$ for 1 month of 3gb or 29.99$ for 3 months of 6gb.So for 1 month you’d get 8.25hrs of direct streaming and for 3months you’d get 16.5hours. (DO NOT LET YOUR DATA EXPIRE OR YOU WILL TAKE HOURS CONTACTING THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT GIVE YOU AUTOMATIC RESPONSES)I haven’t explored it long enough BEFORE it stopped working, but to conserve data you will probably need to stop the motion sensor video recording, buy an SD external card and manually press the record button from the app when you see something you need recorded. Unless your camera is set up in a low traffic area.

Recacam Solar Security Camera Rocks
I bought this camera so that my wife could keep on eye on her enormous dill gardens. Every summer her dill gardens are filled with Swallowtail butterfly caterpillars. But, her dill garden is at the back of our property and I often see her in the summer bent over her dill garden counting the caterpillars. With the Recacam Solar Security Camera she will be able to spy on and count her caterpillars on her phone from wherever she is. Great product. Thanks.

Excellent security camera!
Well worth the money! Had to get a replacement as the first one we recieved, didn’t work properly. The company was very prompt and helpful with trouble shooting the defective camera. After troubleshooting, they advised a replacement. We returned the first one and recieved the new one immediately. This one works absolutely great! Keeps you informed as to who is approaching your home. You can see in real time what is happening outside. You can set parameters as to the time you want to have alarm on and recording time. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a security camera at a very reasonable price! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from this seller or company again!

Camera is well built and has performed very well in the first two months of use. The solar panel is very efficient and has no problem keeping the camera’s battery charged. Connecting to the Cloud Edge app was a snap. I also like the feature where a light can be turned on when extra visibility is needed at night. The light can also be enabled with the siren when motion is detected at night.

Great outdoor camera – especially at the price!
We needed an outdoor camera with Cellular service. I did my research and came across this camera. We’re mainly a Wyze camera family. The features available in this camera are top notch, easy to use, and easy to understand. If you’ve used any other cameras in the past, you’ll be very familiar with the feature set. The ability to set a “humanoid” tracking area is ideal.The max capacity for the SD card is listed as 128GB. I’ve installed those in all my cameras and they work fine, although I did have to format them in a PC before they worked initially in the camera.One aspect of setup was that on all three of my cameras, I had to reboot the camera a second time upon the camera recognizing the 4G SIM card. When it happened the first time I was a little worried because it kept saying “SIM card not recognized”, but after a reset it worked liked a charm. This happened on all three cameras.The 100MB data that’s included on the SIM card lasted me about 3-4 days, which was plenty of time to test and make sure this would work for my needs.There are 2 options in the app to purchase data for the SIM card, a 30 day option (3GB) for $20.99 or 90 day option (6GB) for $54.99. It would be nice to have options for a fleet of cameras at a lower cost.Overall a great camera, at a great price point, with nice features, and easy to use.

Good for the price.
The camera doesn’t have as clear of a picture like my cellular ones do. The stuff up close and farther away has squiggly edges to the objects but the mid point picture is clear. It doesn’t pick up animals or the traffic. I was afraid that we’d get constant alerts for the traffic but it doesn’t seem to bother it. I would like it to pick up the animals though so I can see what’s digging up my garden, but I think you have to pay extra for that. You can set the zone that you want it to alert for human activity which is a nice feature. It will change from night vision to color automatically for recording at night. For $39 with the coupon this is a good camera!! Once you buy it and hook it to your WI-FI, you’re done, there’s no other expense unlike my cellular cameras. You do have to buy a SD card if you don’t want to use the cloud but that was minimal. I would definitely recommend this camera and am considering buying another.Revision: went from 4 stars to 5 because when digging into the app a little more than I had before I found quite a bit of adjustments you can make to this camera to correct some of the things I had mentioned before. Overall it’s a great camera when others are so much more expensive.

Great camera and good price
Bought this camera to monitor traffic in my driveway (which is over 100 ft long). We live a bit out in the country, but get a lot of vehicles in and out. Our son sometimes like to go out and having the camera to see who is going where is great. The clarity of the camera is awesome both day and night vision. The coverage area is wide enough to cover the drive and the yard. It connected to our home WiFi with no problem and switches between devices effortlessly. Glad I bought this camera…no more jumping up and running outside to see who set off our driveway alarm !!!

I’d previously left a negative review but the seller reached out and made it right. Now my updated review:Unlike some of the other solar, wireless cameras I’ve seen this one has a separate mounting bracket that can be attached via screws either against or under a surface and then the camera clicks into it securely. This enables removing the camera if desired (changing memory card, AC charging, etc.) without having to unscrew it. However it also means anyone else can remove it easily so don’t mount it within easy reach if that’s a concern.Speaking of reach, similarly to the other cameras I’ve purchased the motion detection range seems to be concentrated in the middle of the camera’s FOV. If human detection is important to you make sure you test it and finetune before relying on it.Despite the advertised resolution being 2K, I can tell you it is not. However it is sufficient for security purposes, just don’t expect to be able to identify someone by their face at 50 yards. Like my last review on this type of camera distance is important if you need to be able to do that. So in other words don’t mount it looking at, say, a parking lot at 200 yards away and expect to be able to identify people facially.Also while on resolution, note that when you select “HD” or “QHD” (different cameras offer one or both in addition to “SD”) while it’s still not in 2K, the image quality will improve BUT the bandwidth requirements will go up. This may result is slower streaming and a performance hit, depending on your network and bandwidth congestion. When set on “SD” the stream (and panning/tilting via the app) only had a delay of 1-2 seconds, which is normal for online streaming. When set on “HD” or “QHD” the delay was upwards of 30+ seconds, and controlling the panning/tilting became incredibly difficult. I could physically see the camera moving in near realtime but with the delay on the video it made actually controlling it and not overshooting everything difficult and frustrating. However I do acknowledge that this might vary based on network factors.Price to performance ratio is very good, and I’m happy with my purchase.

Great deal, But…
Works great, problem started after several months, I’ve been getting constant reminders to purchase more data. I used the provided sim card to test the camera then switched to a local provider with a data plan, now the app keeps trying to get me to purchase a data plan from them. With the second camera I added it with the app but never installed their sim and it works fine. Time will tell.

Decent camera lacking recording features
Bought this camera after a lightening storm took out my old one. I love the solar power option and not having to either wire or place near a power source. Being able to move the camera around and view most all of my property with two cameras is a good selling point. It doesn’t have record settings that allow you to record for a period of time. When something is detected it records for 10 seconds and that’s it. It doesn’t ever pick up vehicles pulling into my driveway and it doesn’t pick up nor record all movement like it should. The last camera I had I was able to set recording times when I would be away and have a constant recording. This is a feature I want in any camera I have because you can go back and view a specific day and time if needed. For instance, the old camera I had recording when my vehicle was broken into but it only saved into the cloud 30 seconds of the event and alerted as the thieves were existing my vehicle. The feature of setting times recorded constantly during scheduled hours and I was able to go back to the recording to view for quite some time ahead of the event that showed the thieves walking down the street going onto every property on the street rummaging through car ports and getting into multiple vehicles. So I was able to go back and screen record the entire footage from the app and turn into police. This camera does not have that feature so although it has good features and does work well with good video quality I will continue looking for a camera that has other features I feel are necessary for my me personal preference.

GREAT CAMERA – GREAT VIDEO
This was my first experience purchasing and installing security/surveillance cameras for our home. After doing some online research, I finally decided to go with the Recacam wireless solar security cameras. Being wireless, it was a fairly quick and easy install with no labor intensive hardwiring. Although it’s powered by a built in battery, after the initial 5V wall charge, the solar panel seems to maintain the power fairly well with normal use. The features of motion sensing, push notifications to my cellphone, remote adjustment, a spot light, two way audio communication, and a siren were good selling points for me. Plus, the video is surprisingly clear and crisp, and it has an added night vision feature. I decided to use a 128GB micro SD card option for video storage so I wouldn’t have any recurring online storage fees. NOTE: The micro SD card does not come with the camera. Maximum card storage size that can be used is 128GB. CONS: The instructions were a bit confusing, with broken English and lack of clarity. Chinese? I was finally able to figure it all out, but it took some deciphering. Also, you can’t delete individual videos from the SD card. If the card gets too full, you have to format it to clear up space, which deletes all the videos. So, backing up any important footage is a good idea. The camera does come with a USB charge cable, but no wall charger, so you’ll need to use a 5 volt 2 amp cellphone charger. I guess they had to cut costs somewhere. Overall, I like the camera and believe it does a great job for what I needed. The Cloud Edge App is very basic, but seems to work ok. After purchasing the first camera, I bought 3 more. All in all, it was a good purchase and the cameras do the job!

Good for my yard
I like being able to see what’s happening in my yard. I live somewhere with a lot of wildlife activity, so I enjoy being able to check if there’s something outside I should maybe wait for if I have to go somewhere. I also like that I can move it around and point it toward the bedrooms at the front of the house to make sure no one tries to be a creep. But that’s just the paranoid in me. Also, being able to freak out unsuspecting visitors or even my own family by suddenly speaking to them is pretty funny from seemingly out of nowhere is pretty funny.

It’s ok….
The picture clarity is extremely good. I love the fact that I can move/zoom the lense in different directions when I’m feeling like that nosey neighbor. I have a 128 micro SD card installed, so I don’t understand why I would need to pay for a cloud service. My other cams doesn’t require this and saves all the vids to my SD cards to view whenever. I actually have a wired surveillance system in addition to solar cams. The solar cams are installed in blindspots where my wired cams can’t see due to the layout of my home. I probably should have spent more time reading the reviews. Also, I’ve had the camera up for a few days. Installation was easy, but the battery doesn’t seem to be charging via solar. I installed it Friday evening and this review is being written the following Monday. The solar panel is plugged into the cam and was placed in the exact same direction as the solar panel of my old cam. Never had any solar charging issues. It’s too much hassle for me to keep going up and down a ladder to troubleshoot, the instruction manual is far too vague and I dont want to keep asking my neighbors for help. So I’ll just take the loss and go back to the brand I had before if or when the battery dies on this one. If the solar charging finally kicks in, then all is good.

Easy Installation and Set-Up
I bought this camera for my Mother. I chose the solar powered type for convenience, as where the unit was needing to be located didn’t have easy access to a power outlet. After install, I was so impressed with ease of set-up and quality of picture and features, I’ve decided to purchase a couple for my home. I chose this camera for the price. I wasn’t sure what I was getting, I took a chance. I own property in SC BY the forest. It’s used to get away and hunt. It’s 70 miles from my house. I have a small cabin I’m putting together. Someone broke into the cabin but didn’t steal anything. I think they were trying to get out of the rain. I needed a security camera. I don’t have internet out there because I get good cell coverage so WIFI cameras won’t do. Also my cabin is set up like an RV I have to plug out in to my power post. I needed a solar cellular camera.I want sure if I would get coverage out in the forest with this cam, crossed my fingers. I set it up high where it would get the most sun. I turned it on and with in seconds it connected cellular. I was very impressed and happy. Now I can have an eye out on my property and enjoy nature’s view and cabin security.This camera shows decent video. The PTZ works pretty good not much of a delay. The security features (siren and lights, motion detection, notification, recording) work great. Connecting to the camera from 70 miles away hasn’t been a problem.I did order two because the price is right within my budget for a sollar cellular camera. I’m don’t know about the longevity of this product but for now it’s doing what I need it to do.Advice:If you plan to do something similar on property far away test the camera at home for at least a week before taking it on a long drive.

Works very well
I have this camera pretty far from the wifi extender but it still picks up a signal. The solar panel is up high in the sun and so far I have not needed to charge it. I have had it for a few months and so far the weather has not caused any issues. The picture is clear even at night as long as the subject is relatively close and it pans in every direction. Works just as I hoped.

The camera has a very good image and moving the camera around is also good. The microphone is great. But, the only thing I don’t like is it takes a little long to make contact to the unit. Other than that, it’s a very good camera. I would recommend getting them.

Excellent and easy to use security camera
After researching multiple security cameras, we decided to purchase this outdoor wireless camera with solar panel. We have been using the camera for almost 2 months and are extremely satisfied. The alerts are great, the picture quality is awesome and we are very satisfied. The app for the camera is very easy to use and is an awesome feature. Just FYI, the location where we placed the solar panel does not get very much sunlight, only about 3 hours at most a day and the battery holds a solid 100% charge with no issues even on cloudy days.

Good Camera at a Good Price
I had been looking for a camera to mount to my shed and monitor my back yard, It needed to be wireless and solar powered. I found a few that were well over a hundred dollars, then I came across this one. I read the description and it seemed like it meet all my needs, but at a fraction of the price. So I figured, hey why not, and I gave it a try.I’m very happy with my purchase. I love how I can move the camera around with just the app on my phone. The picture is surprisingly clear. Motion detection is quite good. I’m kinda surprised by the amount of racoons, opossums and skunks that go through my yard at night, lol. I like that you can turn on and off recording from the app too, so i don’t have to record during the day when we’re out in the backyard. The camera has been out in the back yard for almost a month and I haven’t had to recharge it, the solar panel has taken care of that.I’m very happy with the camera and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a camera and not looking to break the bank in doing so.

The only thing I dislike about it is probably because it’s white but other than that it’s pretty good no problems from me.

You have to know what you are buying
So, I got this on Cyber Monday for really cheap. I just wanted a cam to stick on a large post out in the back yard to keep an eye on the dogs when we are away. For that, this camera is perfect, absolutely perfect.This is pretty low on extra features though. There is no OMNIV or RTSP support. I can somewhat understand as this is meant to be charged by a small solar panel and used on-demand. If this was hooked to my Blue Iris system constantly providing a stream, it would likely not be able to keep up with the small Solar panel. I did a port scan on the camera’s IP and it found NOTHING.You can put a micro SD card in it and it will record on motion detection. That works surprisingly well and you can view the clips back very easily in the app. What you don’t seem to be able to do is download the clip. I think you have to go out on a ladder and grab the card.The image quality is not too bad at all. The angle is very wide. PTZ movement is fast and smooth. Night vision is adequate. The “floodlights” that come on when it detects motion (you can turn that off) are not bad at all. They would certainly startle an intruder and provide enough light for a decent full color video feed to about 15-20 feet away.Installation is a breeze of course since it is completely wireless. WIFI reception is about the same as my Samsung s20 phone, so pretty good. WIFI setup is very easy. You select your SSID on the app, put the password in and it generates a QR code on your phone screen. Point it at the camera and it connects.One small point that most people won’t care about is that it is indeed only 2.4 Ghz capable but does NOT play well with enterprise WIFI access points (Band steering). So if you run EAPs and a zone controller, you will want to create a 2.4 GHZ SSID just for these things. Odds are you already have though for a printer etc.

Great camera thats easy to setup
My experience with the Recacam 4G LTE Cellular Security Camera was very positive. This wasn’t my first time setting up a security camera, so after some research, I chose this particular model for its wireless, solar-powered capabilities. Installation was straightforward and hassle-free, requiring no complex wiring. The camera’s built-in battery initially needs a 5V charge via the included USB cable, but afterwards, the solar panel efficiently sustains its power. I’m impressed by the array of features, including motion detection, push notifications, remote control, a spotlight, two-way audio, and a siren. The video quality is crisp and clear, enhanced by the night vision capability. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this camera’s performance and would highly recommend it.

Excellent Camera, Top Notch!

I didn’t have high hopes for this camera for the price to be honest. Wow! I was never so happy to be so wrong. From the features to the picture quality to the being 100% wireless this camera is absolutely amazing! It stays charged even with multiple overcast days in a row, the LTE signal is excellent and I live in a very rural area, connecting remotely isn’t a problem whatsoever, it’s motion detector is spot on, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA! Buyers take note the LTE 4G service (just like any lte 4g service is NOT FREE) but it’s very cheap and well worth the money!

Highly reliable, Easy to set up, Cost effective Security Solution
Highly satisfied by its performance, was very easy to set up. Had all the accessories needed to set up without any special skills. Works on Solar and the charge is sufficient and no drainage is observed. The features are awesome, Highly satisfied and recommended !! You can’t go wrong with this. Recommended to friends and they’re satisfied as well.

Great camera, great price
Love this camera! Great pictures, love that I can do the two way talk feature.Very convenient for those of us who do not have WIFI all over our property.Just be sure to take a picture of the QR code on the camera. That is what you need to hook it up and if you have to reinstall the camera on the app it is very difficult to do it without it.Also be sure that you keep data on the sim card. I tried using a t mobile sim card and it didn’t work. I could only use the sim that came with the camera.

Great Security Camera
Installation and set up was easy! Clear images and the awesome part is that it’s a wireless camera! No cords or extra stuff to try to figure out. My teenager was able to install and get everything set up.

Good bang for your buck
This security camera is definitely worth your money. It carriers all the same features as the majority of security cameras out there but at half the price AND is solar powered so no need to replace batteries every few months. The only feature I wish was different is the cloud subscription. It’s a paid subscription but Does have a free basic a version that only gives you the first 6 seconds of recordings. If you want more than that you’ll need to subscribe $3.99 monthly or use an SD card and manage recordings on your own. Bottom line tho, this camera is great quality at a fraction of the price!

Not really a streaming camera, can’t download video, more like a game camera
Camera was easy to setup and the picture, sound, and night vision is pretty good, but it can’t stream video.The signal strength at the camera is good, 3/4 bars and my cell phone has no problem streaming video from the same location, but the camera just isn’t up to the challenge. If I try to view video a “Getting Video Stream” counter slowly goes to 100% and then goes back to zero and starts over again. Maybe 1 time out of 10 I’ll get a few seconds of video but then it stops, and tries to reconnect over and over and over again.If there is a motion event I get a tiny thumbnail image and that’s it. The app doesn’t have the ability to download the video file. The only option is to stream the video and record the stream… but as mentioned above the camera isn’t capable of streaming video. So a thumbnail is all I have unless I want to visit the camera, pull out the SD card, and load the video onto my computer. It seems like the camera and app should have the ability to download a video or a full-sized image, even if it takes awhile, but it doesn’t.I tried contacting tech support, and they suggested I tried buying a T-Mobile SIM card and seeing if that works, but the T-Mobile coverage map doesn’t include my area, so I didn’t waste my time and money trying.I bought the 3 month data plan because it was the cheapest at $10/month, which would be reasonable if I could stream video or download motion events, but $10/month for a handful of tiny thumbnails isn’t worth it, so I’ll probably wind up using it like an unconnected game camera when the data plan expires.The camera is a good concept, but fails to perform as advertised. I keep hoping a firmware or app update will bring the ability to download the pictures and video off the camera, but so far it’s just tiny little thumbnails.

The solar panel does not keep the camera charged
I like the camera, but I am disappointed that I have to keep bringing it inside every few days to charge it in the house. The solar panel does NOT keep the camera charged. I DO like the easy disconnect that the camera has from the bracket that’s attached outside. At least that makes it easier to bring it in periodically when I have to charge it. I only wish the solar panel worked better to keep the camera charged.

GREAT camera!!!
This camera works so well! The app is very user friendly my boyfriend and I use it everyday. We are able to watch all the movement outside of our house. What I really like is the night shift mode, the light attached, and you can talk into a speaker. It also records and stores data for a certain amount of time. The solar panel charger is ideal. Awesome camera and very sturdy. Highly recommend!!
